Laurie Guichon Memorial Grasslands Interpretive Site
Lawrence J. C. (Laurie) Guichon
October 15, 1944 - July 19, 1999
Laurie Guichon was an active member of the Nicola Watershed Community Round Table, an organization that brings people together to share knowledge and responsibility for their community. This organization fulfilled Laurie's personal goal of bridging the gaps that exist in society. He was particularly keen about the plan to create a Grasslands Interpretive Site. This project was very much a part of Laurie's vision and today it is a reality for all to learn from and enjoy.
The kiosk was designed by Doug Strand of Merritt and constructed by Nicola Log Works. The interpretive panels were designed and written by Murphy Shewchuk, with the help of numerous individuals and organizations. The majority of the photographs are by Murphy Shewchuk.
The kiosk is located near Highway 5A/97C at the Lundbom Road exit, approximately eight kilometres southeast of Merritt, British Columbia, Canada.
